Worcester is situated in the heart of the Breede River Valley, only 120 kms from Cape Town. The Breede River which flows through the fertile Valley, gives the Breede River Valley its name. Worcester is the focus point of a number of smaller surrounding towns and is therefore known as the "Capital of the Breede River Valley", a name of which Worcester is not only proud, but also justifyably worthy. Worcester is the central business centre of the surrounding towns and offers businesses which are not available in the rest of the Breede River Valley. In spite of the fact that Worcester is the "capital" of the Breede River Valley, it has not lost its rural character. Consequently the relationship between the customer and supplier is still practised on a personal level. The Breede River Valley region is also the largest wine producing area in this country.
The largest of its kind in the world the KWV Brandy Cellar offers a uniqueness in the 120 Woudberg potstills, huge maturation cellar and demonstrations of the ancient craft of barrel-making by the coopers.
