 Ashton is situated on the R62, between Robertson and Swellendam, at the foot of the majestic Langeberge. It is an important wine producing and fruit processing centre and home to five wineries and two large canneries. Wine estates offer tastings as well as cruises on the Breede River and tempting food platters to compliment their award-winning products. The towering cliffs of Kalkoenkrantz and Lego Land in Cogmanskloof present experienced rock climbers with awe-inspiring challenges. Ashton is well-known amongst enthusiasts as a top race horse breeding area.
