![]() Pringle Bay is a beauriful sandy inlet lying between the mouth of the Buffels River and a small rocky headland named The Point. Named for the Rear-Admiral Thomas Pringle, who commanded the Cape station of the Royal Navy after the British occupied the Cape Colony in 1795. Dominating Pringle Bay is the 454m Hangklip (Hanging Rock), which marks the eastern end of False Bay. The caves and valleys of cape hangklip were once a favourite refuge for slaves who ran away from their masters in Cape Town and elsewhere.
