![]() Mkuze is a small Zululand trade and transport centre. It is also the name of one of Zululand waterways that meanders across the southern expanse of Maputaland, eventually feeding into the St Lucia wetlands. The Mkuze River cuts through the Ubombo Mountains before serving as a boundary for Zululand's famous Mkuzi Game Reserve.
From the village of Mkuze, it's possible to ponder the mystery and legend surrounding the the jagged heights of Ghost Mountain. With its dramatic silhouette its not difficult to understand why the mountain is said to be haunted.
