Illovo Beach is a small holiday resort town about thirty kilometers to the south of Durban. Illovo Beach gets its name from the Lovu River, at the mouth of which it stands. Illovo is a village that has many residential properties and plenty of accommodation, including a caravan park. There are good beaches and the resort is ideally placed for the many attractions of KwaZulu Natal. For those wishing to see more of the night life of the big city, Durban is only a half hour's drive away on the N2 highway. There is some excellent fishing to be had from on the Illovo Beach front, which is a very popular sun-bathing beach.
