Port Alfred

Established in the 1820’s, Port Alfred has been able to hold onto its rich heritage while developing into a coastal town that can accommodate visitors and offer residents a comfortable life. Located between the two major cities of the Eastern Cape, namely East London and Port Elizabeth, Port Alfred is often referred to as the heart of the Sunshine Coast. The marina and beaches of Port Alfred are extremely popular, offering visitors a wide variety of water sports including surfing, wind surfing, water skiing, scuba diving, canoeing and boating. On land, activities such as mountain biking, 4x4 tours, dune boarding, bird watching, hiking, golf and horse riding keep visitors occupied. Port Alfred is also home to one of the biggest air schools in the country, where you can enjoy aviation and aerial excursions.
