Maclear is situate in the foothills of the Drakensberg, Eastern Cape, South Africa, and is famous for its wild trout, Rockart (San Paintings), dinosaur footprints and spectacular scenery. Annual festivities include the Fees Zonder Naam (FZN), the Trout River Festival during April/May and Kapaailand Classic golf tournament during November.

Beware! The first time visitor will find that the towns main street is a very busy business hive, but escape to the side streets or one of the B&B `s or the sporting facilities and enjoy the breathtaking view of the mountains and fresh mountain air. Sit beside one of our many perennial rivers and streams and enjoy the sight and sounds of a never ending stream of water rushing past.
